Kate Muelling, STEM Teacher Leader
Kate began her career teaching math at a public middle school in Kodiak, Alaska. Situated on the coast of an island a few hundred miles off the coast of the mainland, Kodiak offered breathtaking mountains, more bald eagles than anywhere else in the world, and grizzly bears the size of small vehicles. After 6 years on the island, Kate moved to Providence to teach at Nowell. Kate teaches math as an avenue towards social justice and equity in education for all students.
Outside of school, Kate loves to read, write, cook, make music, and spend time outdoors with her husband (Walter) and dog (Gustav) - and sometimes even her two cats (Armand and Leonard)! During warmer weather, Kate can often be found (or lost?) hiking and camping all over New England.
