Kelly McGahan, Social Studies Teacher
With eight years of experience as a history and civics educator in Providence schools, Kelly McGahan is committed to fostering inclusive, tight-knit learning communities where every student feels seen, heard, and valued. Now in her first year at Nowell Academy, Kelly has found a familiar sense of belonging reminiscent of her tenure at 360 High School, where small class sizes and close relationships allowed for impactful, personalized learning experiences.
A proud Providence College alum and devoted men's basketball season ticket holder, Kelly channels her passion for the game into her love for teamwork, perseverance, and school spirit. This same passion for growth and connection extends beyond the classroom to her part-time role at Barnes & Noble, where she’s perfectly at home surrounded by books. A voracious reader, she’s always exploring new stories and ideas, often with her loyal pitbull, Dotsy, by her side. Whether she’s inspiring students, cheering on her team, or diving into the pages of a great book, Kelly prioritizes learning, storytelling, and community as essential parts of her life.
